Shaded English Cream
Long Hair Female

Caramel comes to us from Tracy Grenda
at Grendox Miniature Dachshunds
                                                  Thank you, Tracy!

Caramel is our beautiful English cream girl from great English cream champion lines!  Her sire Vince, and her mom Lass Lass come from the well known Sniffntells, Devoncream and Sutkus lines.

She has grown into a beautiful young lady with great conformation and an awesome coat!  She is a sweetheart and we are so happy to have her with us and to be a part of our family!

True English cream miniature dachshunds are born very dark - almost black.  During the first 6 to 8 weeks, a true cream's  coat will lighten in color.  The older the puppies get, the lighter they become.  Some will lose all or almost all of their black overlay and be called "English creams."  Others will retain some of their black overlay and be called "shaded English creams."  All true English cream dachshunds are long haired, have a black nose, black nails and black eyeliner around the rims of their eyes.

English cream dachshunds were first imported into the United States in 1987 from the United Kingdom.  Thus, the "true" English cream dachshunds' heritage can be traced back to British imports as this is where the cream dachshunds originated.  When looking at an English cream pedigree, you should be able to trace their UK ancestry back within 5 generations.  UK ancestry may go beyond 5 generations but it will still be there if they are true English creams.

In order to produce an English cream dachshund, both parents must carry the cream gene.
